Michigan State Police are reporting that a reckless driver struck the pillar of a bridge on westbound I-96 freeway resulting in four people being ejected from the vehicle. All four occupants of the GMC Yukon died. The reckless driving crash happened at on Sunday approximately 8 p.m. on westbound I-96 Express at Grand River in Detroit.

The preliminary investigation shows that the driver of the GMC Yukon was driving at a high rate of speed before striking the bridge pillar. Reckless driving can be any act of operating a vehicle in a dangerous manner, which can include excessive or dangerous speed.
